Today, at 4pm HKT (3pm Vietnam), Bonhams’ SOUTHEAST ASIAN MODERN & CONTEMPORARY ART auction will take place in Hong Kong.

Like every other auction, the star is the painting Le Collier [Necklace] by Mai Trung Thứ, with an estimated of 7.7 to 12 billion VND. This is one of his beautiful silk paintings of women. Surely Le Colllier will be favored by wealthy collectors because of its noble and dreamy beauty.

In the auction, in addition to the works of famous artists before 1945 such as Nam Sơn, Lê Phổ, Mai Trung Thứ, Vũ Cao Đàm, Trần Duy, Trần Hà, Võ Lăng, Trần Văn Thọ; There is also the next generation of famous artists such as Trần Lưu Hậu, Đỗ Quang Em, Nguyễn Trung, Đặng Xuân Hòa, Bùi Hữu Hùng.

Senior expert Joan Yip of Bonhams is a person with a comprehensive view and new thinking about the market. She is very active and proactive in finding good works of Vietnamese painting in the next period. In addition, setting a starting price corresponding to the artist’s name, suitable for the current market is also one of the plus points that makes Bonhams’ auctions attractive with many choices for collectors.
