Tomorrow, July 21, 2023, at Quang San Museum of Art, 189B/3 Nguyễn Văn Hưởng, Thảo Điền, District 2, Hồ Chí Minh City will open the exhibition titled ‘Fated encounters’ with more than 100 works of lacquer, silk and paper by artist Trần Phúc Duyên (1923-1993).

The exhibition has been mentioned a lot in the mass media. Viet Art View only shares a few small things about sincerity in the care of art, seriousness in collection and enthusiasm in contributing to bringing Trần Phúc Duyên Painting to a new level.

Five years ago, when Phạm Lê’s family shared a story about making a book, a website, an exhibition to introduce ‘The career and life of artist Trần Phúc Duyên’ to art lovers, offered to invite some researchers and critics to contribute their voices so that the book’s content has the weight of serious academic research.

At that time, when being asked to write research articles on Trần Phúc Duyên’s painting, a (well-known) critic said immediately (without thinking much) “The whole pictures are f.a.k.e, write for what?” How can that be? The researcher still hadn’t seen any material and works that Phạm Lê’s family is keeping…

After a while, the researcher when meeting again happily said “I have seen the paintings with my own eyes and they are very beautiful,” absolutely not repeating the story told before.

And then, just like that, the book and the exhibition were silently prepared for 5 years with much effort. The journey to results is not easy.

Letters, replies, face-to-face meetings, long phone conversations, dense exchange of messages about the exhibition and the book with Phạm Lê’s family are enough to see the seriousness and sincerity of what they cherish.

Congratulations to Phạm Lê’s exhibition, we wish the exhibition ‘Fated encounters’ success and most importantly congratulations to artist Trần Phúc Duyên’s name being deeply shaped in the hearts of art lovers by an elaborate and certainly beautiful exhibition…

Sincerely CONGRATULATIONS!
