In December, 2022, Viet Art View produced a video of the work L’écharpe bleue by painter Mai Trung Thứ. The painting was auctioned in October 2022 at Aguttes and was sold to art collector Hàn Ngọc Vũ, a dear friend of Viet Art View.

As a coincidence, during the production process, Viet Art View exchanged emails with Mr. Hàn Ngọc Vũ and Ms. Charlotte Aguttes-Reynier, art director of Aguttes auction house about the history of the painting L’écharpe bleue.

In early January 2023, Ms. Charlotte and two associates, Ms. Jia-You de Saint Albin, head of Asian art department and Ms. Ophelie Guillerot, head of Contemporary art department, came to Vietnam for a number of discussions and meetings with organizations, units and individuals about Vietnamese art information and materials.

With Viet Art View, the two sides had 5 appointments, first meeting, talking, visit to Viet Art View’s headquarters, lunch, going to Thầy pagoda, Đường Lâm the old village, Bút Tháp pagoda, meeting with the family of painter Lương Xuân Trình (son of painter Lương Xuân Nhị)… the two sides have a sincere and realistic working point of view. This makes Aguttes and Viet Art View have a working interaction.

Ms. Charlotte is a gentle and delicate person, with profound understanding of art, downright, progressive in collaboration. Mr. Aguttes (Charlotte’s father, the founder of Aguttes auction house) is a venerable man, he also had a sincere and witty phone conversation with Viet Art View’s representative. Jia-You de Saint Albin and Ophélie Guillerot are very understanding.

As an auction house, a place connecting people with works and art lovers and collectors, the assessment of the authenticity of the work is the most important. Therefore, in the process of searching and processing data and information for works, it is necessary to be careful and precise to the maximum extent…

During this travel to Vietnam, Ms. Charlotte would look for more materials of art history, at the same time build relationships on the basis of equality of cooperation with the appropriate units. This shows Aguttes’ deep interest in Vietnamese culture. France is still preserving many valuable works of Vietnamese art. The preservation of works of art lovers, of French art collectors, of auction houses in general and of Aguttes in particular, bring Vietnamese art to art lovers and make a significant contribution, enhancing the value of Vietnamese works in the international art market.

Viet Art View would like to thank Ms. Charlotte and her associates for arranging meaningful and sincere meetings before the Lunar New Year.

On the occasion of the Lunar New Year Quý Mão 2023, we wish you and your family members; wishing Aguttes auction house a New Year of Good Health – Prosperity – Happiness – Luck and Peace.
